The sojourn will conclude on Sunday, July 23 at Newcastle upon Tyne Railway Station in northeastern England.

• The City of Bath
• Caerleon Roman Fortress and Baths

• Ambleside Roman Fort
• Hardknott Roman Fort

• Arbeia Roman Fort

• And, most significantly, the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall from west to east, with stops at multiple sites including Housesteads and Vindolanda Roman Forts.

Over the course of this panoramic, 8-day sojourn, you will enjoy overnight stays in historic and atmospheric cities and towns, including:

• Hexham: 2 nights

This fascinating travel program will be led by Professor Emeritus William Hanson of the University of Glasgow. Hanson taught archaeology there for 40 years and became Professor of Roman Archaeology in 2000. The focus of his research is on Roman frontiers, and he is one of the foremost experts on Roman sites in Britain, most especially Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall.
