1) What kind of weather can I expect in Scotland in October?
In general, October is a beautiful month to visit Scotland. Average daytime temperatures range from low-50s to high-60’s, but it can get colder in the late evenings and at night. There is normally an abudance of sunshine, but rain and some wind is also likely to occur. Participants should bring sweaters, and a lightweight, waterproof jacket or a small umbrella.

2) Can I arrive before or remain after the tour?
Yes. If you would like to arrive in advance or remain after the tour has concluded, Scholarly Sojourns can help you arrange your hotel accommodation and we are often able to secure attractive rates. Please indicate these preferences to us once you have registered for the tour.

3) How much walking will be required on this tour?
All participants should be comfortable walking up to a mile at a time and capable of climbing up to three flights of stairs at a time.

4) I am a single traveler. Can you help me find a roommate?
Scholarly Sojourns will do all we can to match single travelers with a suitable roommate if they desire. But we cannot guarantee that roommates will be available. Therefore all single travelers should register as such and be prepared to pay the single traveler rate should a roommate not be identified.

5) Is this tour appropriate for children?
Unfortunately this tour is not appropriate for children or anyone under the age of eighteen.

The meeting point for this tour is the Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel in Edinburgh. Participants making their own travel arrangements should plan to arrive at the hotel between 10:00 and 12:00 on the first day of the tour. The first official activity begins at 14:00 that day.
