Katherine Elkins

Associate Professor of Humanities

Kenyon College

Professor Elkins has taught for almost twenty years and has won teaching awards at both U.C. Berkeley and Kenyon College, where she is currently a professor of Humanities in the Integrated Program in Humane Studies. Her award-winning research centers on nineteenth and twentieth century French culture and has been published in leading academic journals. At Kenyon, she teaches art, literature, and philosophy from 1850 to the present. Some of her most popular lectures are those on the Impressionists and the Post-Impressionists, a sampling of which have been published in her lectures for the Modern Scholar Series Odyssey of the West, Part Six. Most recently, she recorded The Giants of French Literature with the same series, and she has just completed a book on Marcel Proust.
